Strengthening
Quality in
Schools

Strengthening Quality in Schools is an initiative established by the Governor’s Business Executives for Education (GBEE) to provide the expertise needed to develop a world class quality education system for New Mexico schools.  SQS assists in improving a variety of aspects of education using Total Quality Management principles.  The project provides the training, tools and support necessary for improvement of student performance.  From 1992, SQS has completed Phases I,II, III, IV, and V involving over 1/3 of the state’s school districts including partners from local community colleges, universities, businesses, and the State Department of Education.  Currently in Phase VI, approximately 115 sites are participating in SQS during 2003-2004.
