Collaborative Bargaining: A Systems Approach to Negotiations

Purpose: Define and implement a Baldrige-based, systems approach to the collaborative bargaining process.

 

Expected Outcomes:

· Clear understanding of and commitment to the elements of a collaborative bargaining process

· Consensus on ground rules for the process and clarification of roles and responsibilities

· Definition and implementation of a process for identifying issues to include criteria for
   consideration, data requirements

· Collaboratively developed contract for employees

 

Target Audience:

District negotiations team, sub-committee members

 

Participant Prerequisites:

Appropriate awareness-level training such as Orientation to Performance Excellence and Continuous Classroom Improvement preferred but not required

 

Recommended Time:

Minimum of 1 day planning, 1 day team orientation, 1 day status check with subcommittees and negotiation team members, 5 days collaborative bargaining
