Purpose: To clearly define what it takes to develop aligned improvement plans for schools that use Baldrige as the approach to continual improvement.
Expected Outcomes: · Increased understanding of the Baldrige approach to continual improvement
· Increased
understanding of the role of the school improvement plan in a systems
approach to school · Assessment of the school as a system · Development of draft goals, measures, and an action plan for the school
Target Audience: School Improvement Teams, Building Leadership Teams
Participant Prerequisites: Successful completion of awareness-level training such as Orientation to Performance Excellence, and Continuous Classroom Improvement
Recommended Time: 1 day
Required Materials for Participants: · Planning for Performance Excellence (School Version) Participant Workbook · School þ Systems Check II or III
Additional Materials That Should Be Considered to Support Participant Learning: · School improvement planning requirements from the state/district and/or accrediting body
