SYSTEM ASSESSMENT


 Facilitated System Assessment for Schools

Purpose: To provide a Baldrige-based assessment of the school as system in a

user-friendly format. It is designed to positively impact the goal of increased use of a Baldrige-based systems approach to improving school performance. It is a systematic method of organizational self-study, written assessment, site visit, and collaboratively written feedback based on the Baldrige Education Criteria for Performance Excellence.

 

Expected Outcomes:

· Identify system strengths and opportunities for improvement

· Identify suggested and prioritized next steps

 

Target Audience:

Building Leadership Teams

 

Participant Prerequisites:

· The Building Leadership Team is committed to the process of system assessment

· Members of the Building Leadership Team are willing to actively participate in the process

· The Building Leadership Team is willing to dedicate the time and human resources required
   for a site visit

· The Building Leadership Team is committed to use of the feedback in the improvement
   planning process

 

Recommended Time:

Minimum 2 days on-site, 3 days off-site developing feedback report

 

Required Materials for Participants:

· Facilitated System Assessment documents and worksheets

 

Additional Materials That Should Be Considered to Support Participant Learning:

· State Quality Award materials to be provided by district

· Baldrige Criteria booklets for current year (ordered from ASQ)
